Tuqris – Jewelry that preserves and reinterprets tradition

Tuqris is a contemporary jewelry brand founded in 2024 in Chisinau by designer Cristina Tuceacov , a graduate with a medal of excellence from the jewelry and jewellery program at George Brown College, Toronto. With over 5 years of international experience and collaborations with prestigious houses such as Van Cleef & Arpels , Tiffany & Co. , David Yurman and Cartier , Cristina returns home to create jewelry with soul, inspired by Romanian and Moldovan traditions .

Jewelry with echoes of the past, created for the present

Tuqris pieces are more than just accessories — they carry symbols , stories of the land , forgotten signs brought back to life. The Ecou collection reflects this vision: jewelry crafted from silver, inspired by traditional signs and ornaments on carpets, ceramics or folk costumes, reimagined in a modern aesthetic.

For example, the Wish Jug pendant is a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional Moldovan jug — a symbol of preservation and hope. Inside it, you can place a wish and wear it close to your heart, like an amulet.

Old symbols in new jewelry

In our creations you will find solar signs, spirals of life, motifs of fertility, protection and the cyclicity of nature . Each engraved line or modeled volume carries with it an ancestral meaning, a connection to our cultural heritage. We draw inspiration from the art of folk crafts — pottery, weaving, embroidery — and translate it into silver, enamel or sustainable materials.

Sustainability and respect for nature

Our jewelry is created with care for the environment. We use recycled silver and gold and integrate stones considered "imperfect" by the industry, but unique in their shape and texture — witnesses to a journey through time and nature.
