The apple tree is Moldova’s most beloved fruit tree. We find it golden in fairy tales, blooming in Christmas carols, and even in the name of our spring tradition: Mărțișor. But above all, the apple tree is the Tree of Life itself. Its roots are our ancestors, its trunk is the family of today, and its crown is everything yet to come. It has become so deeply intertwined with the soul of this land that it has come to represent Moldova to the world.
